Erectile dysfunction medications seized in Glengormley

8 April 2011

Large quantities of unlicensed medications have been seized by Department of Health officials during a search of a home in Glengormley.

A male was talked to by department officers about illegally importing and subsequently providing unlicensed impotence medications by means of the web.

The 47-year-old was likewise questioned about other medicine offenses.

He will now be the topic of a report to the Public Prosecution Service.

The search was brought out by the Regulatory Group.

Its senior enforcement office, Peter Moore, stated: "It is essential that we get the message across that unlicensed medications can be dangerous.

"These kinds of products being sold, typically online, have undergone no quality assurance and there can be no warranty about their security.

"You merely do not understand what you are taking or the conditions these items were made in. More notably, you do not understand the result drugs like this may have on your health."
